Hi! I'm Tori, Senior Product Owner & former User Experience Manager at Insight Consulting. I work with clients across industries to hone their digital visions, define scope and requirements, create wireframes and prototypes, test with users, and iterate, iterate, and iterate again.
I strive to build solutions that balance business goals, technical feasibility, and user needs. Finding common ground between these often conflicting priorities is where I work best.
At Insight, I lead teams through the end-to-end design process, from research & discovery, through definition & delivery. My client projects run the gamut – I've helped standup a working design system from scratch, created cutting edge IoT-connected ecosystems, and designed dashboards that deliver visual insights & analytics.
My Background
Once upon a time, in a place called Ohio, I thought I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Instead, I ended up in the fast-paced world of Accenture health care technology and management consulting. I wore lots of hats at Accenture, working on dozens of projects with many different clients, and made lifelong friends along the way. But something was missing. While working on a health care consumer engagement project, I had the opportunity to work with a UX design team. I loved the work, and that was the spark that propelled me towards design. UX design was where I could satisfy my creative side, leverage my consulting skills, and make a difference in people's experiences.
The path to my design career wasn't exactly conventional. I took a leave of absence from Accenture to attend Designation's (now Flatiron School’s) immersive design program. Based on my experience with the program, I've become a firm believer in the education model they've created, because it supports unconventional paths. I continue to support Designation's mission by mentoring junior designers in the program.
Non-Work Stuff
On the side, I get a kick out of using my design skills to create custom gifts for friends & family, be it posters, invitations, t-shirts, fake tattoos, you-name-it.
Besides getting fired up about UX design, I love burning out my Chicago library card, building cardboard cat forts for my two meow-zers, and hiking the great outdoors.
